In an effort to battle childhood obesity and train the next generation of filmmakers, Get Fit Kids Corner andDelgado Community College have partnered to create interactive exercise videos led by kids and produced by college students. Utilizing their production skills and facilities, Delgado students in performance and media arts have filmed and edited four, five-minute Get Fit Kids Corner workout sessions. This involves not only working with the kids to get the right camera angles, but also editing the shots together and integrating graphics into the recorded session. Executive Director Leslie Hoffman says this is the first step in helping to prevent childhood obesity in the New Orleans area. Begun in December 2012, Get Fit Kids Corner is an organization which sponsors fitness and nutrition events in order to teach children and teenagers about healthy living.
